El nuevo Hub TV brinda una experiencia de multimedios hiperpersonalizada que permite acceder múltiples contenidos utilizando una sola caja y un solo control remoto activado por voz.
San Juan, Puerto Rico –Liberty Puerto Rico anunció el lanzamiento de su nuevo producto de video, Hub TV. Desarrollado a través de una alianza entre Liberty Latin America (LLA) y TiVo, esta es una consola de televisión por protocolo de Internet (IPTV) que usa la plataforma en la nube completa de TiVo para brindarle a los clientes una experiencia de entretenimiento multimedios e hiperpersonalizada. Este servicio está disponible exclusivamente para clientes de Internet y video de Liberty Puerto Rico.
La consola de televisión Android funciona como un servicio de streaming de video pero es en realidad un decodificador que utiliza la conexión de Internet Wi-Fi o de ethernet de Liberty en lugar de cable, dando así acceso a televisión en vivo, video on demand (VOD), y aplicaciones en la misma plataforma. También tiene un DVR integrado que graba programas en la nube. Los clientes pueden añadir más horas al DVR si así lo desean. La consola también viene con seis aplicaciones preinstaladas para el disfrute de los clientes. Estas son Spotify, Netflix, You Tube, HBO Max, ESPN y Fox Now. Los clientes tienen que estar suscritos a estas aplicaciones para poder utilizarlas en la consola. Estos pueden bajar muchas más aplicaciones disponibles a través de la plataforma. También podrán ver cualquier contenido desde sus teléfonos inteligentes, o cualquier otro aparato electrónico, en sus pantallas de televisión a través de Chromecast, que ya está preinstalado en la consola.
Hub TV también provee acceso a VOD desde la pantalla de inicio, sintonizando el canal 1 desde la guía de la alineación, apretando el botón de VOD en el control remoto de la consola o hablándole al control remoto.
“A través de nuestra alianza con TiVo, le estamos ofreciendo a nuestros clientes una nueva manera de mejorar su experiencia al ver televisión y brindarles más formas de, no solo ver su contenido favorito, sino también descubrir alternativas de programación basadas en sus propias preferencias”, dijo Waldo Hooker, vicepresidente de experiencia al cliente de Liberty Puerto Rico. “Con Hub TV, los clientes no necesitan tener un DVR aparte o una caja de streaming porque esta nueva consola combina todo en una sola caja y un control remoto, sin necesidad de cambiar el puerto HDMI de su televisor”.
Hub TV busca contenido basado en el historial de búsqueda o a través de control de voz. Para utilizar el control de voz, los usuarios pueden hablar normalmente y hacer una orden sencilla para obtener el contenido que quieran rápidamente. También tienen sugerencias de video a través de la herramienta What to Watch, la cual está basada en lo que los usuarios ya ven. La herramienta
Smart Bar de la consola conecta a los usuarios con contenido que probablemente vean en un momento dado durante el día o la semana, basándose en los propios hábitos de los usuarios a la hora de ver televisión.
Además, las grabaciones, transmisiones de video y programas descargados aparecen en su lista en
My Shows. My Shows también tiene categorías que ayudan a los usuarios a encontrar sus selecciones de entretenimiento más rápido. Ellos pueden destacar una categoría especifica como “Niños” para ver programas infantiles solamente o “Películas” para ver nada más que películas. Los usuarios también pueden escoger la herramienta OnePass de Hub TV para escoger un programa, crearle un pase y grabar los episodios disponibles. Una vez los usuarios crean un pase para ese programa, los episodios que están en él se añaden a su lista de My Shows para que los puedan acceder fácilmente.
La guía de programación de la consola también incluye Replay TV, que le permite a los usuarios ver programas que ya están al aire sin importar cuan avanzados estén durante la transmisión o si el programa ya se acabó.
Aun mientras estén buscando contenido, los usuarios podrán ver video en vivo o grabado en el fondo. También van a poder navegar a través de sus selecciones haciendo menos clics y encontrar adelantos de sus canales favoritos. Hub TV también les permite a los usuarios grabar múltiples programas o películas a la vez. Los clientes que tengan cuentas de Google las podrán sincronizar con Hub TV y acceder aplicaciones de contenido como Gmail, Google Play Games y Google Play Music.

Liberty Puerto Rico’s Hub TV Revolutionizes the Way to Watch Television
New Hub TV delivers a hyper-personalized, multimedia experience that allows consumers to access multiple content with just one device and one voice-activated remote control.
San Juan, Puerto Rico –Liberty Puerto Rico announced the launch of its new video product, Hub TV. Developed through a partnership between Liberty Latin America (LLA) and TiVo, this is an Internet protocol television (IPTV) console that uses the full cloud-based TiVo platform to give customers a hyper-personalized multimedia entertainment experience. This service is available exclusively for Liberty Puerto Rico’s Internet and video customers.
The Android television console operates like a video streaming service but is really a set-top box that uses Liberty’s Wi-Fi or ethernet Internet connection instead of cable, giving access to live TV, video on demand (VOD), and apps on the same platform. It also has an integrated DVR that records programs on the cloud. Customers can add more hours to the DVR if they wish. The console comes with six preloaded applications for customers’ enjoyment. These are Spotify, Netflix, You Tube, HBO Max, ESPN and Fox Now. Customers must have a paid subscription to these apps so they can use them in the console. They can also download many more apps available through the platform. They will also be able to watch any content from their smart phones, or any other electronic devices, on their television screens through Chromecast, which is pre-installed in the console.
Hub TV also provides access to VOD right from its home screen, by tuning into channel 1 from the lineup guide, by pressing the VOD button in the console’s remote control or speaking to the remote control.
“Through our partnership with TiVo, we are offering our customers a new way to enhance their viewing experience and give them more ways to not just watch their favorite content but also discover new programming alternatives, based on their own preferences,” said Waldo Hooker, vice president of customer experience at Liberty Puerto Rico. “With Hub TV, customers don’t need to have a separate DVR or streaming device because this new console combines everything in one box and one remote control, without the need to change their television’s HDMI port.”
Hub TV searches for content based on the user’s search history or via voice control. To use voice control, viewers can speak normally and make a simple command to get to the content they want quickly. They also have personalized new video suggestions through its What to Watch feature, which is based on what viewers already watch. The console’s Smart Bar feature connects viewers with content they are likely to watch at a given time of the day or week, based on users’ own viewing habits.
In addition, viewers’ recordings, video transmissions and downloaded shows appear on their My Shows list. My Shows also contains categories that help viewers find their entertainment selections faster. They can highlight a specific category such as “Kids” to watch children’s shows only or “Movies” just to watch movies. Users can also choose Hub TV’s OnePass feature to pick a show, create a pass for it, and record any available episodes. Once users create a pass for that show, the episodes in it are added to their My Shows list for easy access.
The console’s viewing guide also features Replay TV, which allows users to watch already-aired programming regardless of how far along it is in the broadcast or if the show is already over.
Even while they are searching for content, users will be able to watch live or recorded video on the background. They will also be able to navigate through their choices with fewer clicks and find previews of their favorite channels. Hub TV also allows users to record multiple shows and movies at the same time. Customers who have Google accounts can synchronize them with Hub TV and access content applications such as Gmail, Google Play Games and Google Play Music.
