La galardonada destilería de ron puertorriqueño actualiza su cartera de rones añejos súper premium
Ponce, Puerto Rico – Destilería Serrallés, productora del ron número uno de Puerto Rico, Don Q, se enorgullece en anunciar el lanzamiento de Don Q Gran Reserva XO al portafolio de rones añejos elaborados con las mejores reservas de la destilería localizada en Ponce.
Don Q Gran Reserva XO es un cambio de nombre del galardonado Don Q Gran Añejo, un producto icónico del portafolio de la destilería, presentado ahora con un nuevo diseño de botella con la imagen actualizada de la marca, la cual evoca el refinamiento y la elegancia que ha caracterizado a los rones elaborados por la familia Serrallés desde hace más de 155 años. El nuevo empaque del producto destaca los valores de herencia, calidad y tradición de la marca. El ron Don Q Gran Añejo ha ganado más de 60 medallas y reconocimientos desde su lanzamiento original.
“Actualizamos el diseño y empaque de la botella Don Q para comunicar mejor los valores de nuestra marca, así reflejando la calidad y la artesanía del ron añejo súper premium dentro de cada botella”, indicó Philippe Brechot, presidente y CEO de Destilería Serrallés. “Esta mezcla de ron ha sido una expresión estelar por más de 25 años. Don Q Gran Reserva XO es una mezcla de rones añejados entre nueve y doce años en barricas de roble blanco americano, con el agregado de rones Solera añejados hasta 55 años, creando un equilibrio único y característico sabor. Este ron suave y añejo, no contiene azúcar, colorantes o aditivos algunos y se disfruta mejor solo, o con hielo, o en cócteles clásicos como el “Old Fashioned” o el “Manhattan”.
Don Q Gran Reserva XO tiene un color ámbar intenso brillante y posee un rico aroma de notas de frutas tropicales y especias. Además, crea un buen equilibrio con notas de manzana horneada, cítricos y frutos secos tostados y un final cálido y largo.
El ron Don Q Gran Reserva XO es de 80 grados prueba y 40% de alcohol por volumen. El mismo estará disponible a partir del mes de octubre a un precio sugerido de $49.99 en establecimientos de licores, supermercados, en las tiendas de “Duty Free” y en La Cava de Serrallés. Don Q Gran Reserva XO is a rebranding of the award-winning Don Q Gran Añejo, a signature blend of the distillery’s portfolio, presented in the new bottle design with the brand’s updated image, which evokes the refinement and elegance that has characterized the rums crafted by the Serrallés family for more than 155 years. The brand’s new packaging highlights Don Q’s values of heritage, quality and tradition. The Gran Añejo rum blend has earned over 60 medals and accolades since its original launch.
“We updated the Don Q bottle design and packaging to better communicate our brand values and create a look and feel that reflected the quality and craftsmanship of the super premium aged rum inside each bottle,” says Philippe Brechot, President and CEO of Destilería Serrallés. “This rum blend has been a stellar expression for more than 25 years. We wanted to keep the same great blend of aged rums but present it under the new name of Gran Reserva XO as it better articulates the exclusive nature of the reserve rums that are blended to produce it.”
Gran Reserva XO is a blend of rums aged between nine and 12 years in American white oak barrels, with the addition of Solera rums aged up to 55 years, creating a unique balance and signature flavor. This smooth, aged rum has no added sugars, and its tannins as well as the subtle oak nuances and hints of spice that the sherry barrel Solera process imparts, help distinguish Gran Reserva XO’s award-winning flavor profile. This expression is best served on the rocks, neat or in classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Manhattan.
Color: Bright intense amber
Aroma: Gran Reserva XO greets the nose with notes of tropical fruit and spice. Good balance with hints of baked apple, citrus fruits, and roasted nuts and a warm and long finish.
Tasting notes: Deep complex nose of molasses, cigar tobacco and dark caramel. Delightfully smooth and lush with pronounced notes of vanilla, cinnamon and honey.
