El ganador del GRAMMY® y doce veces ganador del LATIN GRAMMY®, Fito Páez, estrenó el vídeo oficial de “Sasha, Sissi y el círculo de Baba” con Mon Laferte, tema central de su recién estrenado álbum especial EADDA9223. En este vídeo, dirigido por Diego Álvarez (Plataforma), la historia transcurre en el bar de carretera “Sissi”, regentado por su bella y fuerte tocaya, que también mantiene una relación con Sasha (Fito Páez), líder de la banda de música de influencia Tex-Mex del local. Pero el destino puede depararles una sorpresa a través de las revelaciones de la misteriosa y seductora tarotista (Mon Laferte).
Páez habla de la colaboración con Laferte:
“Esta nueva versión se toca como la original, con los mismos acordes. Es una fábula sobre un crimen, basada en esos cuentos populares que nos contaban nuestras abuelas y tías, con todos esos elementos folclóricos. Había que invitar a alguien con un carácter fuerte a participar en la canción, y siempre me ha encantado la voz poderosa y canalla de la extraordinaria mujer que es Mon. Este nuevo lanzamiento sigue al ya bien recibido clip de mediados de abril del single de adelanto del álbum “Brillante sobre el mic” con Ángela Aguilar.
Durante treinta años, el emblemático disco de Fito Páez El Amor después del amor ha conmovido a distintas generaciones de melómanos en todos los países de habla hispana. Considerado el disco de rock argentino más vendido de la historia, la fuerza emocional de sus canciones desafía el paso del tiempo y sigue generando pasiones, como lo demuestra su gira internacional desde 2022, que incluyó dos noches históricas en el estadio Vélez Sarsfield de Buenos Aires, con más de 70.000 personas.
Ahora, El maestro de la música argentina ha dado forma a este renovado material, creando una impresionante reimaginación mediante la grabación de flamantes arreglos junto a artistas de diferentes orígenes, épocas y estilos. Además de Mon Laferte, y Angela Aguilar, estos colaboradores globales incluyen a Elvis Costello, Andrés Calamaro, Nathy Peluso, Nicki Nicole, Marisa Monte y más.
De este modo, el artista revisita este repertorio inolvidable, bajo una verdadera mirada contemporánea propia. Titulado EADDA9223, el acrónimo que da nombre a la nueva obra está formado por las iniciales del álbum original El Amor Después Del Amor, añadiendo las dos últimas cifras de su año de edición, 1992, y del lanzamiento actual, 2023.

“En mi opinión, no es sólo un álbum. Ha sido una verdadera odisea musical, permanentemente sorprendente. Para este proyecto, había que destruir de alguna manera el material original: ése era el concepto inicial, en el sentido de no tenerle miedo, de poder arrasarlo, de ponerlo patas arriba. Teníamos que demostrar de alguna manera que no existen los álbumes sagrados, intocables, que no se pueden volver a grabar. ¡Sí que se puede! Y es un ejercicio musical maravilloso. Pude darme el gusto con este nuevo disco, es la prueba de que la música -además de ser un elemento central en la vida de muchas personas-, también es Materia de trabajo, con la que podemos jugar, modelar, e ir a donde queramos. Creo que es lo mejor que he hecho hasta ahora, en el sentido de que me he dado todas las libertades“.

Today sees GRAMMY® and Twelve-Time LATIN GRAMMY® winner Fito Páez release an official video for “Sasha, Sissi y el círculo de Baba” With Mon Laferte – the focus track for his recently released special EADDA9223 album. In this video directed by Diego Álvarez (Plataforma), the story takes place in the roadside “Bar Sissi” – run by its strong and beautiful namesake who is also involved with Sasha (Fito Páez),leader of the venue’s Tex-Mex influenced house band. But fate may have a surprise instore for the couple via the revelations of the mysterious and alluring tarot reader (Mon Laferte).

“This new version is played as the original one, with the same chords. It’s a fable about a crime, based on those popular stories our grannies and aunts used to tell us, with all those folk elements. Someone with a strong character had to be invited to take part in the song, and I have always loved the powerful and scoundrel voice of the extraordinary woman Mon is. She accepted immediately, which was another gift. The tone was right for her, and it is one of my personal favorites from the album”.

Considered Argentina’s best-selling rock recording ever, its songs’ emotional power defies the passign of time, still generating passion to this day, as his international tour has been proving since 2022.- including two recent historic nights at Buenos Aires’ Vélez Sarsfield Stadium that brought together more than 70,000 people.
Now, The Argentinian music master has given shape to this renewed material, creating an impressive reimagining by recording brand new arrangements together with artists from different origins, ages and styles. In addition to Mon Laferte, and Angela Aguilar, these global collaborators include Elvis Costello, Andrés Calamaro, Nathy Peluso, Nicki Nicole, Marisa Monte and more.

“In my opinion, it’s not just an album. It was a true musical odyssey, permanently surprising. For this project, The original material somehow had to be destroyed: that was the initial concept, in the sense of not being afraid of it, of being able to raze it, to turn it upside down. We had to prove in some way that there are not such things as sacred, untouchable albums which can’t be recorded again. Yes indeed, they can! And it is such a marvelous musical exercise. I was able to indulge myself in this new album, it is proof that music -besides being a central element in many peoples’ lives-, it’s also working Materia, with which we can play, model, and go wherever we want to. I think it’s the best I’ve done so far, in the sense that I gave myself every liberty”.
