Miami, FL. – Un viaje a la memoria que se detona con cada canción es como Lila Downs describe la historia del documental titulado El Son del Chile Frito, que ya se encuentra disponible en su canal oficial de YouTube.
La cantante, como protagonista de esta trama dirigida por Gonzalo Ferrari y producida por Maite García y Miguel Tafich, destaca la riqueza multicultural de Oaxaca, abordando las tradiciones que el estado ofrece al mundo a través de distintos lugares que se retratan, gracias al trabajo de la casa productora Cuarto Piso.

Sus costumbres, los personajes que habitan en cada pueblo, su familia, y por supuesto, la comida típica de cada región, son el hilo conductor del documental que fue inspiración de Lila Downs para reencontrarse con sus raíces y crear Al chile, su más reciente material discográfico.
El Son del Chile Frito fue estrenado el año pasado con una exhibición especial en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, donde Lila Downs, en compañía del director, y los productores, desfilaron por la alfombra roja en su premier. Esta participación recibió excelentes comentarios de críticos y especialistas que compartieron esta primera función abierta al público en general.
Recientemente Lila estrenó el tema “El Silencio”, un nuevo tema que expresa de una manera original algunas de las tantas emociones que se viven día a día con el histórico momento que se experimenta a nivel mundial.
Además, colaboró como invitada en el tema “Resistiré”, una canción donde importantes personalidades de la música dieron voz a un himno de esperanza y fortaleza ante la actual pandemia. Con ella, compartieron talento junto a otras estrellas como: Camila, Leonel García, Ha*Ash, Aida Cuevas, Arath Herce, entre otros. El 100% de los ingresos obtenidos de esta canción serán destinados a la Unidad Temporal COVID-19 que se habilita en el Centro Citibanamex.

Miami, FL. – “A trip down memory lane taken with each song” is how Lila Downs describes the documentary story entitled El Son del Chile Frito (The Refrain of the Fried Chile), available now on her official YouTube channel.
The singer, as the main character in this tale, directed by Gonzalo Ferrari and produced by Maite García and Miguel Tafich, highlights Oaxaca’s multicultural wealth by examining the traditions the state shares with the world through the different scenes depicted in the documentary, thanks to the work of production studio Cuarto Piso.
“I can’t make any sense of my life without music. Thanks to music, I discovered who I am, and thanks to music I know where I’m going,” says the multi Latin GRAMMY® award winner, unable to contain her emotions, as for the first time she reveals the most intimate side of her life.
Customs, local characters from every town, the family and, of course, traditional regional dishes run through this documentary, Lila Down’s inspiration to rediscover her roots and create her most recent studio album Al chile (To the Chile).
El Son del Chile Frito was released last year with a special viewing at the Morelia International Cinema Festival, where Lila Downs, accompanied by the director and producers, took that iconic walk along the red carpet at the premier. The showing received excellent comments from the critics and specialists who attended the first function open to the general public.
Recently Lila released the song “El Silencio” (Silence), a new track that expresses in an original way some of the many emotions felt day after day all over the world at this historic moment.
Furthermore, she was invited to collaborate on “Resistiré” (I Will Hold On), a song where important music personalities give voice to an anthem imbued with hope and strength in the face of the current pandemic. Alongside Lila, other stars including Camila, Leonel García, Ha*Ash, Aida Cuevas and Arath Herce were invited to share their talent.
