Originaria de Colima, México, e hija de un padre obrero y una madre ama de casa, Filo8@ creció como la penúltima de 10 hermanos en una familia muy unida. Emigró a California a los 18 años y en 1982 inició su carrera musical demostrando su gran versatilidad, llegando a cantar con mariachi y bailar de forma simultánea. Aunque la llegada de su primer hijo en 1984 puso en pausa su trayectoria para dedicarse a su familia, el destino le tenía preparado un regreso triunfal.
En 2016, tras enfrentar una profunda tristeza familiar que amenazó con acercarla al mundo del alcohol, Filo8@ reaccionó a tiempo y encontró su salvación en el arte. Comenzó a grabarse cantando en su propia casa, haciendo de la música su mayor refugio y despertando nuevamente aquella pasión que llevaba por dentro.
A pesar de sus raíces mexicanas, la artista desarrolló una conexión especial con los ritmos tropicales. Como ella misma lo describe, al ser originaria de la costa de México, sintió que “los vientos caribeños acariciaron su corazón”. Así nació el concepto de “La Charra Costeña”, un estilo único donde interpreta rancheras y música mexicana a ritmo de bachata y merengue.

Born into a united family, with a working father and a housewife mother, Filo8@ is the penultimate of ten siblings. From a very young age, her love for singing was evident. Her versatility led her to sing with mariachis and even to join a dance group simultaneously.
In 1985, the arrival of her first child marked a pause in her career, dedicating herself entirely to her family for many years. It was not until 2016 that, after a difficult personal moment, Filo8@ found refuge and a new opportunity in music. He began recording at home, reliving his dormant passion.
Despite her Mexican roots, Filo8@ developed a deep taste for bachata and merengue, genres that inspired her to create a unique concept: to perform rancheras and Mexican music with the sensual rhythm of the Caribbean. This fusion of cultures, influenced by the coastal breeze of her native Colima, has earned her the artistic name of Filo8@ “La Charra Costeña”.
